recruitment material 2007/08

Hopefully the recruitment material included in the Autumn 07 mailing will help deliver our Vision. Every company and district has received the pack that includes:

rec 02 FINAL GB Poster A4 copy

An A4 Publicity Poster
Whilst companies have loved the lively design, a number of requests have been made, to reduce the poster to A4 size, so that it can go in shop windows. It is also ideal to display at local schools (do they have a notice board outside that parents read whilst waiting to collect their children?) it could go in a local doctors surgery, or post office?

The colours are sure to attract girls.

There is white space for you to write in local details:

Contact: Add a name  On: Add a telephone number Or check out: If you have a local website add the address here. Sadly, a space for location and times has been deliberately left off.
ADDITIONAL POSTERS = 55p

A6 Postcards – Explorers
A6 Postcards – Juniors
A6 Postcards – Seniors
A6 Postcards – Brigaders
A6 Postcards – All age
A6 Postcards – Adult Leaders

If you plan a targeted recruitment drive eg. for explorers, you could give one of the age appropriate cards to your existing explorers to give to a friend. (also cards for juniors, seniors and brigaders) Postcards may also be taken into schools. If you lead an assembly, leave postcards for the girls.

It is OK to add the meeting location and time on these as they are a personal invitation.

This year we have a new postcard aimed at those leaving home for university, please do give one to any of your girls who is leaving, as we’d love to keep intouch with them to a new company in their university town

GB Banner
Sadly we could not fit a whole Pop up Banner through your letterbox! But the design and details of how to order them are available in the password controlled area. Just change the title according to local needs (company / district or region). These are just £49.99 including delivery costs.
Delivery takes around 3 – 5 working days

After camp last year our District was in the fortunate position of having a little money to spare! What could we buy to benefit all?
Having admired the large pull up banners that Central Office display at our National events we decided to investigate.
I contacted 2Display.co.uk and within 8 days 1st Yorkshire District’s banner arrived on my doorstep.
All communication, planning and design were completed via e-mail - the result - a wonderful bright banner advertising GB, to be used at our District events.
I dealt with a lady called Penny who was efficient and helpful.

Recruitment – Faithful and Fruitful for the Future

In the year 2013 GB will be celebrating 120 years of mission among children and young people!

Back in January 2006 the Trustee Board and Executive Committee, set a vision for 2013.

'GB intends to Arise for such a time as this and by our 120th year (2013) be engaged in:

This vision for the future was shared at our July 2006 Brigade National Council (BNC) meeting!

It's ambitious, it may make us all take a bit of gulp, it will certainly take working at….but all in all it comes from a Trustee Board convinced of 3 key facts:

At BNC in March 07, each member of the Executive committee was given some homework!
Remembering our aims for Vision 2013 – ‘Faithful and Fruitful for the Future’ in particular the plan to be Enabling at least 120,000 more children and young people to discover and follow Jesus, each Exec member was asked to go back to their regions and:

Identify 3 targets that would help deliver this aim.
and
Identify any support or resources that could be provided centrally

A number of regions have A* for this work! Some of which included:

These targets will now be monitored as ongoing assignments, do give feedback to your Regional Reps and lets watch our work for Jesus grow.

Connecting with Schools!

As featured in the recent View (Spring 2008 Edition) connecting with schools is great to do because:

Arise have and will be producing lots of resources to help you with this; the website will be regularly updated with this material – so keep coming back to check it out!

Connecting with Children in Key Stage One
Children in Key Stage One (aged 5-7 years) have really enjoyed the following material – and of course meeting ‘Fudge the Floppy Dog’! We hope that you too find it really enjoyable and helpful:

Introductory Letter to Schools – Adapt and use this template to introduce yourself /GB to the Headteacher, with the intention of sharing how you could possibly support the school through your GB activities.

Assembly Plan – If you would like to and have the opportunity to do an assembly at the school, adapt and use this pre-planned ‘Fudge the Floppy Dog’ assembly – always popular with children and staff alike!

Fudge Presentation – Use this presentation to assist your delivery of the above mentioned assembly It can be used as a PowerPoint or printed onto OHTs.

Follow Up Letter for GB/BB/Christian Groups – With permission from the school, adapt and use this letter to follow-up the assembly (it can also be used independent of this) to make the children/parents aware of the groups available to both the boys and the girls in the area.

Follow Up Letter for Girls’ Brigade - With permission from the school, adapt and use this letter to follow-up the assembly (it can also be used independent of this) to make the parents of girls aware of The Girls’ Brigade group in their area.

Have fun – and we hope and pray that your connections with schools go well! Come back soon for more material to help you with this!

God Bless,
Hannah
