quiet games
Keys:
You will need: A chair, a scarf and a bunch of keys
Everyone sits in a circle. One person sits in the middle on a chair, blindfolded. Place the bunch of keys under the chair. The aim of the game is for one of those in the circle to get the keys without the person in the chair being aware. The leader points to someone sitting in the circle and says ‘started’. The person in the middles listens carefully and can point to where they think the chosen person is.
The chosen person tries to get the keys and should walk around the person in the middle once before they pick up the keys. If the keys are successfully taken, the person in the middle stays in the middle. If the person in the middle catches the other person, they swap roles.
Wink, wink Murder
(be a bit sensitive depending on your group)
Everyone sits in a circle and someone is secretly chosen as being the 'murderer'. The others have to guess who it is before they are 'murdered'. You are 'murdered' if the 'murderer' winks at you.
Once you are 'murdered' act dead silently.
Penny For Your Thoughts
Ask everyone to choose a penny from a bag.
When everyone is seated ask them to look at the date on their penny.
Ask them to think about something that happened to them that year.
Start with the oldest
When this activity was used at our church we got these type of responses
"1975 was the year my Dad was born"
“2001 was the year I went on holiday to America
“2004 was the year my parents split up”
Be sensitive about the responses, but encourage girls to share as much as they feel able.
Early Bird Gets The Worm
Wrap a small gift.
Keep an eye on who was the first girl to arrive but do not say anything about it.
Sit everyone in a circle.
You begin by holding the gift and saying, "State your name and a pretend form of transportation of how you came to be here today/tonight.
The way you came here must begin with the same letter that begins your name.
For example: my name is Dianne, therefore I would state:
'My name is Sharon and I came here today on a Ship.'
After making that statement you would then say, (while passing the gift to the next person), 'and this is a wiggly, squiggly, worm.' Now that person will do the same thing you just did only using their own name and transportation. Go around until everyone has done this. When all have done this you state, 'Who was the first guest to arrive?' Once that is established, you hand the It is a cute game
Wait a Minute
Need – A clock/watch with a second hand
Players have to guess when a minute is up, either by putting their hands up or by sitting down and standing up when they think a minute has passed. Closest person to the minute wins (make sure nobody is looking at their own watch/mobile or clock on the wall!)
