queen’s award

The highest award in GB

Aim of the Queen's Award

To encourage girls to a personal commitment to
the Lord Jesus Christ, inspiring them to greater
endeavour in service within the Christian Church,
general community and The Girls' Brigade.

All Queen’s Award candidates in the world follow the
internationally established syllabus and requirements,
adapting the guidelines in a way that is appropriate
for each member country.
As a member of GB England & Wales, it is up to you to determine the order
and way in which you achieve this award. This means that throughout the award you can work at your own pace, within the time frame stated in the general requirements.

It may be that you wish to work on two or more areas of the award at the same time, but equally there is sufficient time for you to complete one section before moving on to the next.  Each module has specific instructions regarding the way in which the work is to be approached eg. minimum time requirements, style of assessment, number of words required etc. These MUST be adhered to where stated, so it is important that you are realistic about your available time as you plan your workload.

Also, it is important to remember that there will be people around you who will support and help you as you progress through the award.  Hopefully your family and friends will be alongside you in your Queen's Award journey – your GB leaders certainly will be, so talk your work through with them, and include them in your support group!

We are glad that you have been inspired to accept the challenge of the Queen's Award, and pray that you will learn more about yourself, your unique contribution to God’s world and His love for you as you progress through the Girls' Brigade Queen's Award.
